Part Two of the Two Weeks of Travel: December 2020 edition
The Woodlands, Texas
We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day in The Woodlands, Texas. We enjoyed lots of walking along the many walking trails, going to Trader Joe’s, and sitting outside in the nice weather.

Falls Church, Virginia
Located 20 minutes from Washington DC lies Falls Church, Virginia. We spent three days here after Christmas, enjoying the Christmas trees in DC, the extensive bike path network, and the surrounding nature. We walked around the Great Falls of the Potomac, these massive falls (that were extremely high and turbulent during our visit). There were a lot of trails to wander around, both along the falls and up into the trees. We also hiked Old Rag in Shenandoah National Park. This 9-mile loop does include quite a bit of climbing, both up trails and along some slightly sketchy rocks. When we went, there was some ice up on the top but it was largely avoidable. The hike goes through trees, hikes (and climbs up rocks) above the treeline, then goes back down through the trees and finishes on a road. It was enjoyable for the most part.

We had a very busy, very fun few weeks to end out this crazy year and are thankful to have been able to do this.
